Pre-Production
At first, we where told to find a high definition photo of yourself, a family member, or a pet. The first thing that popped into my mind was my pet cat. she is fluffy and cute, so I thought that it would be good for this project. when I was little, I had an instagram account for my cat. my dad was teaching me art photography, so I would use his camera and practice taking pictures of her. I used one of my favorite photos. we took that photo and we put it into photoshop. we cropped it to be the correct size, and then we edited it to make it easier to find different colors in the future. I decided to do the triangles because I'm not really good with the pen curve tool, and I wanted this too look as good as possible.
Production
This was more difficult then I thought. the photo I chose was full of colors cause my cat has many different shades of brown, orange, grey, black, and white. I had to determine how big the triangles where going to be used off of how many different colors and shades of colors where in that area. of example, more detailed areas such as the nose, eyes, and mouth, had very small triangles. areas such as the chest had bigger triangles. after I finally finished filling in my cat with triangles, when I took off the photo it hardly looked like a cat. it was when I filled it with color when it started to look good. for each triangle, I used the eye dropper tool to fill in the triangle with its color.
Post-Production
this project took a long time. the photo I used was challenging, but it was worth it in the end with the final outcome. my favorite part was the nose and the mouth. they took the longest but I think all the detail made it look very nice. my least favorite part tho, was the eyes. it was very difficult cause there was many shades of green, and I couldn't make small enough triangles. it looked ok, like it looks like cat eyes but its not what I was hoping for.
